Many students have enquired about a pathway to understanding
China and master the Chinese language. We have observed that
these interests arose not only from the need to master the Chinese
language for career competitiveness and advancement but also
using it as a tool to unlock the body of knowledge in Chinese.
In order to cater to this rising demand to gain knowledge on
China, we are launching this new Bachelor of Arts degree program
on Chinese Language and Chinese Studies.
The Bachelor of Arts undergraduate program is one flexible program
that allows you the following options:

Finish the preparatory program in your home country.
For example in Malaysia, via the SJTU-GHCC center, students
can finish up the preparatory part of the program before
they go on to China.

The degree program builds a strong foundation in the
Chinese language, gets students to qualification status
of both HSK 8 (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, www.hsk.org.cn)
and PSK level 2 (Putonghua Shuiping Kaoshi, www.china-language.gov.cn/44/index.htm)
after the courses in year 1 and 2, and prepare them for
greater specialisation in year 3 and 4. |

There are a couple of options for the students; they
can choose the following pathway to finish up the undergraduate
program: |

A more focused Bachelor of Art degree
in Teaching Mandarin (Hanyu) to Foreigners |
| ii. |
A more focused Bachelor of Art degree
in Translation and advanced Chinese |
| iii. |
A more focused Bachelor of Art degree
in China business |
| iv. |
A general humanities degree Bachelor
of Art in Chinese language and Studies |

In addition to the core program offered by Shanghai Jiao tong
University; we are adding three additional components to the
program for our undergraduates:

English for communication purpose: Students will enjoy
enhanced value if they can articulate fluently in the
English language what they learnt about China, and be
able to tell the China story to foreigners |

| 2. |
Contemporary China knowledge: this top up portion of
the program will help students understand contemporary
China, this knowledge will help them and their employers
to discern the opportunities in today’s China. |

| 3. |
Internship: whether students finally chose to become
a Global Hanyu teacher, or an executive with multinationals
or to serve in the media business, we organized very focused
internship work for the undergraduate students. |
