01 Business Leaders Forum: Director Foong Wai Fong and Prof Ling Dexiang presented a 3-hour forum to business leaders from 3 races in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia's dominant Muslim state. The event was led by the Terengganu Chinese Chamber of Commerce ( TCCC) and jointly organized by the Malay Chamber of Commerce and Indian Chamber of Commerce. The panel of speakers had an engaging forum with many participants who shared their insights on the future of China. The Chairman of TCCC has inidicated its interest to set up a Confucius Classroom in TCCC to help business leaders in Kuala Terengganu to learn Hanyu and also conduct programs on Contemporary China happenings.
02 Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin(UniSZA)-Confucius Institute@Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global Hanyu & Culture Center's (SJTU-GHCC) China Week in Kuala Terengganu: UniSZA-SJTU-GHCC opened the China week at the Gong Badok Campus of UniSZA on July 25th. The event was enthusiastically attended by graduants and students of UniSZA and members of the public and students from the neighborhood schools. In addiiton to an exhibition of 200 books and multi media material, various types of Chinese Cultural Events were held; included are Jiaozi making, caligraphy, painting of Beijing Opera faces and paper cutting. Students participated in these activities enthusiastically; over 1000 graduants and UniSZA's 4200 students took turns to attend the exhibition which was held in conjunction with the 2010 Convoation of UniSZA. The King of Malaysia was at the Convocation to witness the installation of the Queen of Malaysia as the Chancellor of the University. The Chairman of the Management Board, Vice Chancellor and senior managemnet of UniSZA later attened a performance by UniSZA students. 20 students who are currently taking Chinese program at UniSZA presented two Chinese songs to the audience. These students have only learnt the songs for 2 days. UniSZA has some 400 students taking Chinese as elective. The University has two Chinese teachers from China's muslim province of Qinghai and Ningxia. The exhibitionmaterials were presented as a gift to help UniSZA start its Chinese Langauge and Culture Resource Center.
03 9th Sports Carnival @ Sunway Lagoon, July 3 2010
Some 700 students, parents, grandparents, staff members of Peter & Jane had great fun at the 9th Sports Carnival at the Sunway Lagoon Report today. Participants helped themselves to a w Wide range of matches and games; making the sand castle; tele matches; and most of all, shake hands with our Panda Mascot! The Panda proves to be a favorite with both Adults and Children! Global Hanyu will be setting up a Mandarin Panda Confucius Classroom in partnership with Peter & Jane Kindergarten. P & J has 5 Center in Klang Valley and has a very large Mandarin program for 6 year olds.

A visit to UDM, Kuala Terengganu
Director Foong Wai Fong visited Universiti Darul Iman in Kuala Terengganu on March 30, 2010 for dialogue with the University's senior Management. Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Elyas hosted the Global Hanyu Malaysia's visit.

Ms Foong also gave a speech to some 300 students and faculty on the subject, "China & Asia Rising: Opportunities for Malaysians".

UDM's faculty of language offers Mandarin as an elective; some 300 students take up Mandarin at the University; using textbook donated by Global Hanyu Malaysia (Great Wall Chinese). Online study accounts will also be given away to the students, Free of Charge from the Confucius Institute @ Shanghai Jiaotong University & Global Hanyu & Culture Center to help them accelerate their learning.

05 Baby Panda Mandarin Pilot Classes (3, 4 April 2010)
Global Hanyu Malaysia launched pilot sessions for Baby Panda Mandarin Sessions. Some 12 students signed up for the pilot sessions that will run over 3 weekends, starting from 3rd April. The 4, 5, 6 years old were all very enthusiastic; listening to them read out aloud and sing the Chinese characters were very entertaining; it is amazing how children could learn language in such a short time. In each session, a set of 16 characters will be taught.

Chinese Dumpling (Jiaozi) Making for SKEMA (French) Students in Suzhou
On 30 March 2010, French SKEMA students studying in Suzhou, China learnt how to make Jiaozi, known as Chinese dumpling, guided by experienced teachers and faculty. Students learnt how to wrap Jiaozi with several ingredients consists of ground meat and/or vegetable filling. Such filling will be wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough, which is then sealed by pressing the edges together or by crimping. The group had a great time learning how to make Jiaozi in a proper way.

Jan 27-29, 2010, for 3 days at the Grand Hall of ChungHwa Independent School, Confucius Institute@Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global Hanyu & Culture Center presented the above exhibition. Some 6000 students, faculty and parents attended the 3 day fair. Our teachers Changxin and Dongning presented a session on "China Now" to some 400 Senior Middle 3 students.

KUALA LUMPUR, 2010: The Confucius Institute@Shanghai Jiaotong University& Global Hanyu and Culture Center presented the Nihao Malaixiya Launching Fair at The Star Edu-cation Fair 2010. We have chosen this fair because this is the leading fair in Malaysia where English and other non-Chinese speaking crowd will attend. This year, the fair is reported to be bigger and better than any of the previous fairs over the past 22 years held by the Star newspaper, the leading English daily in Malaysia with over a million readership. .As the biggest education fair in Malaysia and one of the largest in Asia, .All five halls in the KL Convention Centre had to be booked for the first time, as 161 exhibitors took up 510 booths.

09 September 21 - December 16, 2009, French CERAM students study in China. 46 students from France's CERAM Business School will spend 12 weeks immersion program with SJTU-GHCC in Suzhou beginning from Sept 21 to Dec 16. These students will study Chinese language and culture and will also be following the Great Wall Chinese Online. Hanban has supported this program by giving each and everyone of these students a free one year account.
10 15位学员成功完成对外汉语教师培训课程!上海交通大学-全球汉语中心再度成功主办已经进入第七届的汉语教师短期培训班。这个为期10周 (7月17日-9月20日)的不脱产培训课程是由上海交通大学凌德祥教授和王郡玉副教授联合指导。学员来自不同的背景,但他们都有一个共同的目标:要成为对外汉语教师。这个针对性的课程刚好满足了学员们的要求,同时也为马来西亚对外汉语教学队伍增添了15位新成员。
